Terms

Licenses.

The licenses behind the material we use, and the rules we hold ourselves to when we reuse someone else's work.

The licenses we rely on

CC BY 4.0
Reuse allowed, including commercially, with attribution. We credit the author and license in the video description. Covers CC BY images (Wikimedia), CC BY music (Jamendo), and Twemoji graphics. Deed
CC0 1.0
Dedicated to the public domain; no rights reserved. No attribution required, though we still note sources where useful. Deed
Public domain
Works free of copyright, including most NASA imagery and old public-domain media on Wikimedia Commons. Free to use; credited where appropriate.
Stock platform licenses
Footage from Pexels, Pixabay and Coverr under their free-to-use content licenses. Attribution not required; reuse within their terms.
AI model output
Images generated with open models (FLUX.1 [schnell] via Cloudflare Workers AI, Pollinations.ai, and Wan2.2 via Alibaba Cloud). Used within each provider's terms; disclosed as synthetic content.

How we comply

  • From Wikimedia Commons we reuse only public-domain, CC0 and CC BY files. NonCommercial (NC), NoDerivatives (ND) and ShareAlike (SA) files are filtered out before they ever reach a video.
  • Every CC BY image and music track is attributed by author/title and license in the description of the video that uses it.
  • Music is restricted to pure CC BY instrumental tracks from Jamendo, or a curated royalty-free pool — never NC, ND or SA.
  • AI-generated narration and visuals are disclosed on every video and labelled as altered or synthetic content where platforms require it.
